TAJ-MAHAL

HISTORY
Mumtaz Mahal, Shah Jahan married in 1612. The sudden death of Mumtaz Mahal to give their 14 child, the pearl of the palace, the king´s favorite Shah Jahan, left him mired in pure desolation. In his memory built the Taj-Mahal mausoleum, which would provide you with the palace and the crown fails life.

Construction 22 years, but even in his last years, prisioner in  the Red Fort where the Taj-Mahal contemplated, were not enought to forget. The tomb stands on a square pedestal.
Located in Agra, in the continent Asia, was built in years 1632-1653, a style that combines elements from Islamic, Persian, Ottoman Turkish and Indian Arquitecture. It has high red sandstone walls, surrounded by gardens, with a monumental gateway in the south, it is accessed by a courtyard of 300 meters wide with a marble pool in the center and many gardens and fountains in the north the river Yamuna.
On the great central arch is a kind of gallery on which has 11 small domes, both on the outside and inside, in total 22 small domes symbolizing the 22 years of the construction.
It is located on a marble platform which is accessed without shoes is a square building with truncated corners so irregular octagonal acquires, in each of the four walls, arches arranged in two stories high flank a central arch ridge which rises higher than the rest of the facade.
The Taj-Mahal is something magical, for the marble that is formed; changes color depending on the light receives: when the sun is shining bright, the immense blue sky is cloudy and confused abouth the sky.

MATERIALS
In Agra met the world´s greatest assets: the fine white marble of the walls was brought from the quarries in Jodhpur, jade and crystal from China, turquoise from Tibet, lapis lazuli from Afghanistan, Egypt chrysalides, agata Yemen, Ceylon sapphires, amethysts from Persia, Arabia coral, malachite from Russia, the Himalayas quartz, diamonds and amber Golconda Indian Ocean.

The Taj-Mahal is better than the Berlin Wall, is more luxurious than the Eiffel Tower, is smaller than the Coliseum, is more interesting than the Great Wall of China, is more expensive than the Pyramids of Egypt, is less cold than Niagara Falls, is more fun than Vatican, is drier than the Christ The Redeemer, is more beautiful than the Statue of Liberty and is farther than the Statue of Liberty.

SUPERLATIVES
The Taj-Mahal is the most romantic place in the world, is made with the best and the most expensive materials, the history of its construction is the most interesting, the different styles have are the most beautiful, mausoleum is the highest, is the quietest place, is the greatest place near the river Yamuna, is one of the cleanest places, was the most visited in 2003, has the most amazing colors, has the best plants and flowers and is the most Agra important in the Asian continent.
