History

The construction of the Berlin Wall and specially it's fall, have been part of the most important moments of the history of the twentieth century. This Wall divided to Berlin on two parts during twenty-eight years separating families and friends.  Wall Stories

At the night of August, 12,1961 the DDR (Deutsche demokratische Republik) decicde lift a provisional wall. During the next day started the construction of a wall of bricks and the people who had their house on the construction line were evacuated.

The first barriers opposite to the west were formed by cement pieces of 3,60 meters of high place and 1,20 meters of width followed by a smooth pipe of concrete of asbestos of 40 centimeters of diameter. Called " frontier wall 75 " was understanding 41,91 kilometres of the Wall of Berlin. In addition it was necessary to add 58,95 kilometres of frontier wall prefabricated with a height of 3,40 meters. In many parts besides of the wall, it had wired, trenches, cars of combat, control tracks and towers of vigilance. The fall of the wall cause by the opening of borders betweet Austria and Hungry in May 1989, as more germans traveling to Hungry to seek asylum in the embassy. 

This fact motivate biggest manifestations in Alexanderplatz that led the November 9, 1989, the government of the DDR secured that the move to the west was allowed. That day thousands of people were assemble in the crossing line to the other side and nobody could stop them.

The next day, openen the gaps on the wall and started the countdown to the end of ir days.

Once released, families and friends could be seen after 28 years of forced separation.

The Berlin Wall is shorter than the Great Wall of China, because it measure is more than 7000 km long, and too it's the older than the berlin wall that was constructed in 1961 and the great wall of china was constructed between the years 770 and 476 A.C.

The Berlin Wall and the Taj Mahal have stories about their building close, but the story about the Taj Mahal is more interesting than the wall as it is a love story and the wall is about the political-economic differences.

The Berlin Wall receives more than six million tourists every year as the Eiffel Tower 6.8 million people, making them the two most visited cities in Europe. Niagara Falls have visits around of 12 million people, being more visited than the Berlin Wall.

Currently the Berlin wall represents new hope and opportunities, also faces old problems and dangers, the Statue of Liberty represents, on a more general level, freedom and emancipation from oppression. As the wall which has greater significance, showing the world a different countenance representing the Statue of Liberty.

The Vatican had influence in the Cold War, but the greater the influence that caused the Berlin Wall, considered by many the epitome of what was the Cold War.

Christ the Redeemer and the Berlin Wall had different purposes at the time of its construction, the Christ the Redeemer representing peace, twinning and the love, taking on greater significance in the Brazilian, while the wall was built for the division of Germany the world.

The Berlin Wall was built with concrete, and the Egyptian pyramids were built with limestone, becoming more resistant material than concrete.

The Roman Colosseum and the Berlin Wall were used or represented in popular culture, but the Roman Coliseum was more seen in the appearance in films

The RDA was considered one of the most productive nations of the communist.The most memorable event of the revolution that swept Europe two decades ago is the November 9, 1989, openning of the Berlin Wall.The Checkpoint Charlie was the borders most famous and relevant, was one of the most  used crossings during the time of the Berlin wall. One of the most extraordinary escapes ocurred in 1964, when 57 people managed to cross through a tunnel dug by west Berliners.East Side Gallery is considereted the largest art gallery in the outdoor world.
